Back in Paris, 3 degrees and fog (brrr, what a change!), I’m looking at the photos. A huge thank you for making us discover your country — a bit of its history, a bit of its myths, its landscapes, colors, flavors, and its people. This trip was simply extraordinary and will remain engraved in my soul. It makes me want to learn even more about Vietnam and, why not, one day organize a journey through the Center and the South. If you have the chance to return to the families who so warmly welcomed us, I would be delighted to send you by mail some portrait photos to give to them. Once again, a thousand thanks!!

We traveled to Northern Vietnam a few years ago with our daughter, and Giang was our guide. We have kept an excellent memory of that trip. Giang is not only kind, attentive, and very knowledgeable, but he also speaks perfect French. And we cannot forget his singing talent, which we enjoyed especially during our visit to Halong Bay on a memorable evening aboard our boat. We also had another unforgettable moment during a homestay visit, where we had to buy Chinese plastic boots because the only way to get there was on foot, the path having been made muddy by the rain. The evening — and part of the night — remains memorable thanks to the moments of sharing with the locals as well as with other travelers who stayed with us. Such wonderful memories together.

I would like to share my experience from my two trips to Vietnam. During our first trip in January 2008, we met Giang. He was our very first guide, and the experience was amazing. Giang gave us excellent advice, listened to our wishes and expectations, and helped us discover the authentic Vietnam with all its wonders — landscapes, encounters, cuisine. We shared so many wonderful moments together. That journey left a lasting mark on us. We were three girls and felt completely safe and confident with him. We were so delighted that we came back in 2011, and this time our trip was planned in advance with Giang’s collaboration — visits, hotels, discoveries, and even more new experiences. Once again, Vietnam amazed us. Giang is truly exceptional, and I wholeheartedly recommend him! I only wish to return again soon — to see Giang, to discover more beautiful landscapes, meet wonderful people, and live moments that will stay with me forever.

We have just returned from a wonderful trip to Vietnam, a magnificent country full of a thousand smiles.
